could this be right?
I noticed somebody on Ebay made a 'buy it now' transaction on Ebay for a Proof $50 gold eagle, for 900.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll....cWON.m313.lVI The same coin and year is listed for 1,550 by another seller. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...D25%26po%3DOp1 Being a nubee in PM's, I am wondering if ebay price ranges for pm's are normally this wide? |
Re: could this be right?
spot is like 880 and if you go to websites like APMEX or Bullion Direct you will see them for 920 or so. People charge what they want and you want to get as close to spot as you can.

Re: could this be right?
The second auction has a "best offer" which usually indicates they don't expect to get the buy-it-now price. I have actually won some "best offer" auctions by offering a realistic price. This one might think the grading makes it worth more? But it is basically still just bullion. If you are interested in this piece, offer spot or what the previous one sold for and see what happens.

Great advise. Thanks for pointing me to the APMEX site. I agree. It's all the same bullion in the end.
